Engine Development Dynamometer Technician (Automotive): Supporting the engineering community in developing engine hardware and calibrations for next-generation vehicles with an accent on data generation, mechanical setup, and test execution. Focus on conducting gasoline and diesel dynamometer testing, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and optimizing test cell performance.

Location: Onsite in Pontiac, Michigan. Must work second shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM).

What you will do

• Conduct procedural and non-procedural gasoline and diesel engine dynamometer testing.
• Collect, review, and validate testing data for accuracy and quality.
• Perform mechanical setup, installation, and maintenance of test articles.
• Collaborate with test engineers and calibrators to update testing procedures and equipment.
• Apply problem-solving techniques to drive continuous improvement in test cell performance.
• Ensure equipment calibrations are current to maintain data integrity.

Requirements

• 2-year associate degree in mechanical/engineering or 5+ years of equivalent technician experience.
• Proven ability to install and remove engines on a dynamometer.
• Experience connecting test instrumentation and diagnosing mechanical/electrical issues.
• Proficiency with PUMA, INCA, and Indicom test bed software.
• Ability to work second shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM) and off-shifts as needed.
• No immigration sponsorship available for this role.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of experience in Engine Development or Validation Testing.
• 5+ years of experience with PUMA, INCA, and Indicom systems.
• 5+ years of welding and fabrication experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automotive, or a related field.
