What you will do

• Drive and execute the technical roadmap for the Blackbird search engine to align with product goals.
• Shape hirify.global's AI product portfolio, identifying innovation opportunities that scale globally.
• Manage and mentor staff and principal engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Own incident response, reliability practices, and capacity planning to ensure live services meet SLOs.
• Champion telemetry-driven development and experimentation to enable rapid iteration.
• Partner with product managers and technical leads to define requirements for complex service scenarios.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United Kingdom.
• 11+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of people management experience.
• Proven experience maintaining and delivering production software using languages such as Rust, Go, Java, Python, C++, or Ruby.
• Strong technical leadership in distributed systems and generative AI application architectures.

Nice to have

• Experience building or operating web-scale search, information retrieval, or context retrieval systems.
• Expertise with systems programming languages, specifically Rust.
• Proven track record of scaling engineering organizations in high-growth or ambiguous environments.
• Experience designing or integrating AI/ML-powered features into production systems.
