TL;DR
SCADA & Automation Engineer (Datacenters): Designing and implementing SCADA and PLC systems for data center electrical power infrastructure with an accent on SEL equipment, relaying, and control systems. What you will do
- Design, test, and install relaying and control systems, specifically using SEL equipment.
- Program and commission SCADA and PLC systems, with a primary focus on SELRTACs.
- Develop configuration files for SCADA protocols including IEC61850 (GOOSE) and DNP3.
- Create detailed electrical designs such as one-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and network architecture diagrams.
- Perform field testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting for SCADA and relay systems.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal designers to ensure quality deliverables.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- 2–5 years of relevant engineering or field experience in power systems.
- Strong knowledge of SCADA and medium/high voltage power systems.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
- Ability to travel periodically (15–25%) for field assignments across states.
Nice to have
- FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) licensure.
- Experience with grid-connected or islanded microgrid control operations.
- Experience with substation or data center medium voltage equipment.
