TL;DR

Electrical Engineer I (Data Centers): Performing detailed design and analysis for substation electrical power systems with an accent on one-line diagrams, relaying schematics, and power system studies. Focus on developing computer-based models for short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash analysis, and protective relay settings.

Location: Remote or in-office (Lakewood, CO). Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Salary: $75,000 - $110,000 / year (Denver, Colorado labor market)

What you will do

  • Perform detailed design on substation electrical power systems including one-line diagrams, control schematics, SCADA, grounding, equipment selection, and cost estimates.
  • Prepare computer-based models and conduct power system studies such as short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, and harmonics analysis.
  • Develop protective relay settings and prepare project documents like proposals, studies, and schedules.
  • Provide field assistance, troubleshooting, and check work of designers and drafters.
  • Assist with client communications and meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution (electric power option preferred).
  • 1–5 years of relevant engineering or field experience.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with substation electrical design.
  • FE licensure (PE is a plus).
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice to have

  • Experience with AutoCAD.
