Head of Communications (Fintech)

Head of Communications (Fintech/Crypto): Develop and execute global communications strategy aligned with business objectives, brand positioning, and thought leadership in digital assets tax compliance with an accent on regulatory messaging, media relations, and reputational risk management. Focus on building top-tier media and analyst relationships, translating complex regulatory developments into compelling narratives, and ensuring message consistency across all channels.

Location: Hybrid working model (3 days in-office, 2 days WFH) at offices in New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, Salt Lake City.

Salary: $150,000-$225,000 base (plus equity, incentives, benefits).

What you will do

• Develop and execute comprehensive communications strategy including press releases, media outreach, and executive communications.
• Advise executives on external communications, regulatory messaging, and reputational risk.
• Oversee internal communications to drive employee engagement and culture.
• Build and maintain relationships with crypto, fintech media, analysts, and partners.
• Monitor regulatory developments, prepare executives for media and events, ensure message consistency.
• Track media coverage, awards, and adjust strategy accordingly.

Requirements

• 10+ years in corporate communications/PR in high-growth regulated tech (fintech/financial services required, crypto preferred).
• Established media relationships with placements in tier 1/2 publications.
• Strong analyst relations experience.
• Exceptional communication skills to simplify complex regulatory/technical topics.
• Experience in crisis communications, internal comms, leading teams in global high-growth settings.
• Impeccable organization, project management, comfort with ambiguity.
