What you will do

  • Lead the management of facility health and safety programs, processes, and policies.
  • Monitor regulatory compliance and maintain safety records, specifically overseeing OSHA VPP efforts.
  • Manage the safety training program, ensuring completion of safety bulletins and procedures.
  • Oversee contractor safety performance and verify appropriate tool and equipment usage.
  • Conduct frequent field safety reviews, coach employees, and intervene in unsafe behaviors.
  • Coordinate accident investigations, conduct root cause analyses, and track corrective actions to completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, health, or a science-related field.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA 1910 and 1926 within a power plant or industrial environment.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a safety leadership role.
  • 5 years of Occupational Health and Safety experience in a power plant or related industrial field.
  • Ability to perform physical demands: climbing ladders, working at heights, and wearing a negative pressure respirator.
  • Must be based in or able to work onsite in Derwood, MD.

Nice to have

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
