TL;DR

Associate, Corporate Development (M&A): Researching and developing potential acquisition targets for a high-velocity M&A organization with an accent on market mapping and strategic lead generation. Focus on building C-suite relationships, qualifying targets against financial criteria, and managing the deal sourcing pipeline.

Location: Must be based in North America; preference for Toronto, Canada.

Salary: $70,000 - $90,000/year

What you will do

  • Conduct detailed research on competitors, add-on offerings, and adjacent markets to identify acquisition targets.
  • Design and execute multi-channel outreach campaigns via cold calling, email, and LinkedIn to engage founders and executives.
  • Build and manage long-term relationships with CEOs, entrepreneurs, and intermediaries in the public safety market.
  • Evaluate opportunities against strategic and financial criteria and maintain a disciplined pipeline in Salesforce.
  • Coordinate due diligence requests, organize management meetings, and facilitate the hand-off to the M&A team.

Requirements

  • Direct experience in M&A origination, business development, or high-ticket enterprise B2B sales.
  • Proven success in cold outreach, lead generation, and navigating conversations at the C-suite level.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills to clearly convey investment philosophy and value propositions.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements and discuss basic valuation drivers.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce), LinkedIn, and research platforms.
  • Must be based in North America and willing to travel 10-20% domestically and internationally.

Nice to have

  • Experience in Venture Capital (VC), Private Equity (PE), investment banking, or management consulting.
