TL;DR
Field Engineer (IT Support): Provide deskside and on-site technical support for hardware, software, connectivity, and printer issues to end-users in client environments with an accent on first-level problem diagnosis and resolution. Focus on troubleshooting PCs, networks, O365, VPN access, coordinating vendor repairs, and assisting higher-tier engineering staff.
Location: Onsite role in Des Moines, IA market with travel required to local clients

What you will do
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve first-level end-user problems for workstations, laptops, software, hardware, network, VPN, Internet, and server services.
- Provide one-on-one end-user support for PC software, connectivity, printers, O365, and local-area network access.
- Set up and configure end-user PC hardware, software, and peripherals both onsite and remotely.
- Coordinate repairs for equipment under third-party vendor agreements and perform minor hardware repairs as needed.
- Act as remote hands for engineering staff and assist in creating end-user FAQs and knowledgebase articles.
- Escalate complex issues to Tier 2 support and document problems for resolution.
Requirements
- 3+ years providing end-user support for PC desktop and application software
- 3+ years installing, upgrading, troubleshooting, and repairing PCs in corporate networked environments
- Experience with network connectivity, printers, O365, VPN, and basic server issues
- MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist) desired or equivalent experience
- Ability to travel onsite to client locations in the local Des Moines area
