What you will do

• Execute VMware to Google Cloud (GCE) migrations for SQL Server databases.
• Manage the full migration lifecycle including planning, execution, validation, and post-migration stabilization.
• Operate and maintain SQL Server databases in hybrid on-premises and cloud environments.
• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting to ensure system stability.
• Support database changes, releases, and incidents in accordance with ITSM processes.
• Collaborate with Cloud Engineering, Security, and Application teams to meet compliance and architectural standards.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA or Database Engineer in enterprise environments.
• Solid experience with SQL Server on Windows Server.
• Experience with cloud-based SQL Server deployments, specifically on Google Cloud Platform (GCE).
• Proven track record of migrating databases from on-premises to the cloud.
• Deep knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, such as Always On and clustering.
• Experience working in regulated environments such as banking or finance.

Nice to have

• Experience with hybrid cloud setups.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation concepts.
• Exposure to audit, risk, or compliance requirements.
