TL;DR

Food Safety & Quality Assurance Leader (Foodservice Supply Chain): Support and drive food safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives partnering with sales, procurement, supply chain, and suppliers with an accent on regulatory compliance, program development, and operational excellence. Focus on resolving issues, monitoring trends and risks, implementing best practices, and ensuring alignment with standards and customer expectations.

Location: Remotely based. Unable to offer work sponsorship for this role.

What you will do

  • Support and advance food safety and quality assurance initiatives across the organization
  • Partner with internal teams, external stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional groups like procurement, supply chain, sales, operations, and compliance
  • Maintain and improve food safety programs, processes, documentation, and quality standards
  • Handle supplier and product quality initiatives, issue resolution, and corrective actions
  • Provide technical support on specifications, standards, regulatory updates, and emerging risks
  • Participate in cross-functional projects, continuous improvement, and best practices development

Requirements

  • Unable to offer work sponsorship
  • 8+ years in food safety role, preferably in produce, meat, and/or seafood
  • 3+ years in processor, distributor facility, or national foodservice organization
  • Supply chain knowledge including distribution, logistics, procurement, manufacturing, transportation, inventory management
  • Technical and analytical skills with spreadsheets, databases, SCM applications, ERP systems
  • Master’s degree in food science/safety or related preferred; foodservice industry experience desirable
  • Strong leadership, team building, problem-solving, project management, communication, and relationship-building skills
