What you will do

• Build and maintain scalable ETL pipelines using Python, SQL, and APIs to ingest large-scale biometric and sensor data.
• Design data models and AWS storage workflows to support clinical studies and internal analytics.
• Analyze physiological and behavioral datasets to validate algorithm accuracy for metrics like HR, HRV, and sleep staging.
• Develop internal Python-based tools for visualizing and annotating biometric data to assist researchers and engineers.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with ML, Hardware, Firmware, and Product teams to test prototypes and inform feature development.
• Synthesize complex findings into reports and dashboards for both internal stakeholders and external audiences.

Requirements

• 2+ years of data engineering experience with health/physiology data in a research context.
• Advanced proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy) and SQL for time-series analysis and production scripting.
• Experience with signal processing and biometric data from wearable or embedded sensors.
• Ability to independently design and execute statistical validation frameworks, including correlation analyses and bootstrapping.
• Working proficiency with AWS and Snowflake for cloud-based data storage and archival.
• Must be based in the Boston Area for hybrid work.

Nice to have

• Experience with clinical or regulatory trial data (GCP/ICH guidelines) or supporting FDA submissions.
• Background in ML model validation or building structured training datasets for supervised learning.
• Domain knowledge in sleep science or wearables.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, Copilot).
