Product Design Intern (Fintech)

TL;DR

Product Design Intern (Fintech): Leading the development and management of a design system with an accent on scalable UI components, design tokens, and governance. Focus on bridging the gap between design and implementation by collaborating with product managers and front-end engineers.

Location: Hybrid in Toronto, Ontario (office 3 times a week)

Salary: $18 - $20 an hour

What you will do

• Design and build reusable UI components in Figma aligned with product requirements.
• Define and maintain design tokens for color, typography, and spacing to ensure scalability.
• Establish and document design patterns and usage guidelines for cross-team adoption.
• Collaborate with front-end engineers to align design components with Storybook implementation.
• Contribute to the development and evolution of a centralized design system.
• Participate in product discussions, sprint planning, and design reviews.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field.
• Foundational experience with UI/UX design and component-based design systems.
• Familiarity with Figma.
• Interest in scalable product design and design-engineering collaboration.
• Must be based in Toronto, Ontario for hybrid work (3 days/week in office).

Nice to have

• Exposure to Storybook or general front-end development concepts.
