TL;DR

Process Engineer (Diffusion): Sustaining daily production and driving improvements in semiconductor diffusion processes including furnacing, wafer cleaning, sputtering, passivation, evaporation, and rapid thermal processing with an accent on yield, capability, and performance. Focus on monitoring Cpk levels, delivering technical projects for cost and throughput optimization, and ensuring process compliance.

Location: Manchester (onsite, rotating 12-hour shifts: 2 weeks days, 1 week nights)

Salary: £54,000-£66,000 (DOE, inclusive of shift allowances)

Semiconductor manufacturer expanding its Manchester fab diffusion technologies team.

What you will do

  • Sustain and improve mechanical/electrical yields and Cpk levels across processes, including metrology R&R studies.
  • Deliver improvement projects focused on yield, cost, throughput, manufacturability, and capability.
  • Support new product/platform development through process activities.
  • Generate and maintain wafer fab operator instructions.
  • Ensure adherence to procedures, quality standards, and factory reporting policies.

Requirements

  • Semiconductor industry experience as Process Engineer
  • HND or degree in relevant STEM discipline (degree preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving, initiative, communication, and priority management in high-pressure environments
  • Competent with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts (days/nights)
  • No sponsorship or relocation offered

  • Experience in diffusion engineering processes
