What you will do

• Develop image analysis solutions to identify disease states, potential therapeutics, and gene functions from microscopy images.
• Create educational materials for online courses and coordinate "flipped classroom" workshops across the US.
• Support the global bioimage analysis community by providing technical guidance via online forums for CellProfiler and other tools.
• Collaborate with biomedical researchers to push the boundaries of high-throughput imaging experiments.
• Deliver educational workshops on image analysis and open-source software tools.

Requirements

• PhD in biology with strong knowledge of various biological research areas.
• Significant experience with microscopy and some experience with image analysis on biological assays.
• Strong organizational and project management skills to efficiently handle multiple competing demands.
• Ability to communicate complex results to biology collaborators and technical needs to software engineers.
• Genuine interest in creating educational content for a wide online audience.

Nice to have

• Expertise in CellProfiler.
• Programming experience, specifically in Python.
• Practical experience with machine learning.
• Experience with Linux, cloud computing, and bioinformatics/statistics tools like R.
