Project Engineer (Mechanical)

What you will do

• Manage mechanical design for packaging and converting machinery including conceptualization, detailed drawings, and bill of materials.
• Design new machinery from scratch, modify existing ones, recommend purchases, and troubleshoot unfamiliar equipment.
• Direct projects through assembly, debugging, training, and installation phases.
• Identify material/process savings and support cost reductions via improvements and modifications.
• Design mechanical or control solutions for safety shortcomings in equipment.
• Interact with customers, sales, service, quality, and plant personnel to solve issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical preferred) with 5-7 years’ experience in machine design.
• Proficiency with CAD and solid modeling software (Creo a plus).
• Experience with PLC software and components (Allen Bradley preferred).
• Fundamental understanding of pneumatic and electrical schematics.
• Basic PLC programming and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in manufacturing/office environments with physical demands like standing, walking, and reaching.
