TL;DR

North America Corporate Counsel (Regulatory Affairs): Managing trade, customs, and export control compliance for a global leader in energy and telecom cable systems with an accent on government contractor compliance (FAR/DFAR). Focus on identifying regulatory risks, advising on contract negotiations, and ensuring adherence to U.S. laws in a manufacturing environment.

Location: Highland Heights, KY. Consistent five days per week in-office attendance is required.

What you will do

  • Act as lead in-house attorney for trade compliance, customs, export control, and government contractor compliance (DFARS/FARs).
  • Monitor North American developments regarding international trade, tariffs, and sanctions.
  • Support business teams in managing government contractor and sub-contractor compliance obligations.
  • Advise commercial and procurement teams on contract negotiations and regulatory language.
  • Identify legal risk areas and implement best practices for informed business decision-making.
  • Manage outside counsel to ensure service delivery and adherence to Legal Department budgets.

Requirements

  • JD degree from an accredited US law school.
  • Admission to the Kentucky bar or ability to secure it as soon as practical.
  • Minimum three years of experience in regulatory compliance, ideally within the manufacturing sector.
  • Ability to resolve legal issues independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tight deadlines.
  • English: Native or near-native proficiency required.
