TL;DR
Senior Staff Process Engineer (Diffusion): Leading continuous improvement projects in semiconductor manufacturing processes including furnacing, wafer cleaning, sputtering, passivation, evaporation and rapid thermal processing with an accent on wafer output, yield improvement, cost reduction and process capability. Focus on delivering technical improvements, sustaining mechanical and electrical yields, monitoring Cpk levels and ensuring robust risk-assessed processes.
Location: Manchester (onsite, shift pattern: 4 days on / 4 days off, 12 hours per day)
Salary: £62,000-£69,000 (DOE, inclusive of 38% shift allowance)

What you will do
- Lead continuous improvement projects focused on yield, cost, throughput, ease of manufacture and process capability
- Support new product and platform development through process development activities
- Sustain and improve mechanical and electrical yields to meet targets
- Monitor and improve Cpk levels across processes, coordinating R&R studies on metrology equipment
- Generate and maintain accurate Wafer Fab Operator Instructions
- Ensure adherence to departmental procedures, quality standards and FMEA reviews
Requirements
- 5+ years Semiconductor Industry experience as Process Engineer, ideally with diffusion / furnacing
- HND or Degree in relevant STEM discipline (degree preferred)
- Project management experience
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take initiative
- Excellent communication skills and cross-team collaboration
- Great priority management in high-pressure environments
- Competent with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Ability to work shift pattern: 4 days on / 4 days off, 12 hours per day
