What you will do

• Operate EfW plant systems, including combustion, boiler, and flue gas treatment processes.
• Monitor plant performance (temperatures, pressures, emissions) and respond to deviations.
• Carry out routine inspections, logging, and first-line maintenance to ensure reliability.
• Identify and report defects, anomalies, and non-compliances for timely escalation.
• Support outages, maintenance activities, and environmental or safety investigations.

Requirements

• Recognised qualification in an engineering or process-related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in EfW, power generation, or a similar heavy industrial/process environment.
• Experience in a shift-based operations role within a continuous process plant.
• Practical knowledge of combustion processes, steam systems, or flue gas treatment.
• Familiarity with DCS/control systems, fault finding, and plant reporting systems.

Nice to have

• Technical qualifications such as NVQ, City & Guilds, or similar.
• Awareness of Environmental Permit requirements and emissions compliance.
• HSE-related training (e.g., IOSH, safety systems training).
