What you will do
- Collect and analyze large US power market datasets for proprietary fundamental models to provide actionable insights to management.
- Develop processes to track policy changes, power system economics, renewable portfolio standards, capacity markets, asset retirements, new generation, and transmission enhancements.
- Research macro-level changes to net load demand and their impact on renewable energy demand.
- Identify emerging generation technologies and market trends affecting commodity prices.
- Translate business questions into market intelligence inquiries and provide insights via presentations and reports to support strategic decisions.
- Conduct routine and ad hoc analysis, develop data management tools, and support fundamental assumptions for management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
- 8 months experience in energy, power markets, energy consulting, or related field (can be from coursework, academic pursuit, or work).
- Proficiency in designing/implementing automated data pipelines using Excel, Python, SQL for large-scale datasets (historical and real-time).
- Experience building custom data analyses into visual reports revealing market trends using PowerBI, Tableau, Microsoft Office Suite, and web-based intelligence tools.
- Must be authorized to work in the US (E-Verify used).
