Location: Remote (USA). Willing to travel consistently (50% - 75%), depending on project requirements. Candidate must be able to submit verification of legal right to work in the United States, without company sponsorship.
Salary: $90,000 – $135,000 per year

What you will do
- Conduct comprehensive inpatient medical record reviews for payer populations to identify documentation gaps related to SOI, POA, MS-DRG, APR-DRG, PSI, and quality measures.
- Serve as educational resource to CDI teams, delivering classroom education, hands-on teaching, and mentoring to physicians, nurses, coders, and staff.
- Formulate compliant documentation clarifications and collaborate with coding teams for accuracy.
- Support clinical staff through interaction, coaching, and interim CDS coverage.
- Develop training tools, methodologies, and materials for CDI and HIM.
- Provide input for client deliverables and expert reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline preferred (RN, BSN, RHIA, RHIT, HIM, or similar).
- 2-5 years of 5 years years of 5-5 years of consulting experience with RN or clinical background required; RNs without consulting experience will not be considered.
- Current CCDS, CCS, or CDIP certification, or willingness and ability to obtain one, required.
- Strong understanding of DRG, MS-DRG, APR-DRG, and HCC methodologies.
- Experience using EMRs such as Epic, Meditech, Cerner, 3M 360.
- Demonstrated consulting skills: critical thinking, communication, presentation, analytical capabilities.
Nice to have
- Experience working in an academic medical center.
- Worked in clinical operations, quality, PI, clinical transformation, or advisory areas.
- RHIA, RHIT, CRC, CPC, or other coding credentials.
- Enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring.
