What you will do

• Review and audit medical record clinical documentation to support medical necessity, severity of illness, and accurate coding.
• Audit Clinical Documentation Specialists (CDS) for query compliance and workflow efficiency.
• Train end users in CDI system software, standards, and operational workflows.
• Query providers to ensure clinical evidence and resources consumed are accurately reflected in health records.
• Collaborate with local CDI teams to provide documentation education to healthcare providers.
• Assist the System Office Clinical Documentation Manager with data collection and CDI Dashboard maintenance.

Requirements

• Must possess at least one: Current Registered Nurse License, RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification.
• Proven experience in Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI).
• Strong critical thinking and ability to integrate complex clinical knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship-building skills.
• Must be based in the USA (specifically supporting locations in MI, OH, IL, MD).

Nice to have

• Certification as a Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Documentation Improvement Professional (CDIP).
• Proficiency with databases, spreadsheet software, and presentation tools.
