Avionics & Radiation Effects Test Technician (Aerospace): Lead cradle-to-grave radiation test campaigns including SEE, TID, DDD for satellite avionics with an accent on coordinating facilities, designing test setups, and executing tests. Location: Los Angeles, CA. Must be a U.S. Person (citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual) per ITAR export regulations. Up to 25% travel for radiation tests.

What you will do

• Lead radiation test campaigns by coordinating facilities, designing setups, writing procedures, executing tests, and documenting results.
• Design, fabricate, and assemble test racks, PCBAs, and cable harnesses.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic components, assemblies, and systems using lab equipment.
• Develop Python scripts for test automation, data collection, and analysis.
• Schedule and prioritize radiation testing for components, boards, and subsystems.
• Flash firmware, build fixtures, and support engineering with software verifications.

Requirements

• 5+ years assembling, integrating, and testing electrical hardware in aerospace.
• Ability to set up electrical measurements (voltage, current, timing, digital I/O).
• Experience with test equipment: oscilloscopes, power supplies, SMUs, logic analyzers.
• Python programming for test automation and analysis.
• Soldering, crimping, cable harness assembly; read schematics and datasheets.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and structured test processes.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, stand extended periods, travel 25%.
• Valid driver's license.

Nice to have

• 1+ years radiation effects testing (TID, SEE, proton, heavy ion).
• Radiation physics knowledge and mitigation of semiconductor failures.
• FPGA/microcontroller test systems, PCB design (Altium, KiCad).
