Steam Turbine Generator - Erection and Commissioning Specialist (Engineering)

Location: Hardturmstrasse 127, 8005 Zürich, Switzerland; on-site field and commissioning work.

What you will do

• Act as the steam turbine specialist during erection, commissioning, and operation.
• Supervise and support steam turbine installation, alignment, start-up, and commissioning on EPC projects.
• Review and validate technical and tender documentation for steam turbine systems.
• Support O&M teams, train personnel, and coordinate with engineering teams on operational improvements.
• Identify equipment faults, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare technical reports and work plans, contribute to project scheduling, and manage HSE-related risks and deviations.

Requirements

• Engineering degree and 10+ years of hands-on experience in steam turbine installation, commissioning, and operation.
• Proven site experience with steam turbine erection and commissioning activities.
• Strong knowledge of steam turbine technologies, control systems, and thermal plant operation.
• Experience with major steam turbine OEMs, including Siemens and Skoda, and with condensing and back-pressure turbine types.
• Expertise in DCS, PID/R&I, vibration analysis, and rotating equipment behavior, plus strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Fluent English and strong communication and coordination skills; ability to work reliably both independently and with suppliers.
