What you will do

• Own and execute manual integration testing across multiple development teams to validate end-to-end customer journeys.
• Design and implement risk-based test strategies and exploratory testing where automation is not yet feasible.
• Develop and maintain automated integration and E2E tests to gradually reduce manual regression effort.
• Collaborate with developers to validate APIs, contracts, and system behavior across environments.
• Build test infrastructure, including test data, mocks, stubs, and environment configurations.
• Integrate automated tests into GitLab CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast feedback and reliable quality gates.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in software quality engineering, including manual and integration testing.
• 3+ years of Java experience for building and maintaining automated tests.
• Hands-on experience with Karate (API testing), Appium (Mobile), and Playwright or Selenium (Web).
• Proficiency with TestNG, JUnit5, Cucumber/Gherkin, and Maven.
• Strong experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and Git-based repositories.
• Must be based in South Africa.

Nice to have

• Experience using AI-assisted tools such as GitLab Duo, Copilot, or other LLM-based assistants.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams.
