What you will do

  • Lead end-to-end billing and coding operations across fee-for-service, capitation, and hybrid payment models.
  • Monitor daily claims workflows and denials to ensure clean, compliant submissions across all states and payers.
  • Track core RCM KPIs and partner with analytics to develop real-time decision-making dashboards.
  • Directly manage a hybrid team of billing specialists and coders, including offshore or vendor-supported teams.
  • Optimize EHR (Athenahealth) and automation tools to reduce manual interventions and improve claim scrubber rules.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with CMS, OIG, and payer audit standards, maintaining audit-ready documentation.

Requirements

  • Must be based in the USA.
  • 8+ years of progressive revenue cycle experience, with 5+ years in leadership or strategic operations.
  • Certified Professional Coder (AAPC or AHIMA) required.
  • Advanced expertise in Athenahealth or a similar enterprise EHR.
  • Hands-on experience with capitated and value-based payment models and encounter reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Tableau, and claims analytics tools.

Nice to have

  • Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or other process optimization background.
  • Working knowledge of pediatric, primary care, or behavioral health coding standards.
  • Additional certifications such as CPPM, CPCO, or CHFP.
