What you will do
- Lead end-to-end billing and coding operations across fee-for-service, capitation, and hybrid payment models.
- Monitor daily claims workflows and denials to ensure clean, compliant submissions across all states and payers.
- Track core RCM KPIs and partner with analytics to develop real-time decision-making dashboards.
- Directly manage a hybrid team of billing specialists and coders, including offshore or vendor-supported teams.
- Optimize EHR (Athenahealth) and automation tools to reduce manual interventions and improve claim scrubber rules.
- Ensure organizational compliance with CMS, OIG, and payer audit standards, maintaining audit-ready documentation.
Requirements
- Must be based in the USA.
- 8+ years of progressive revenue cycle experience, with 5+ years in leadership or strategic operations.
- Certified Professional Coder (AAPC or AHIMA) required.
- Advanced expertise in Athenahealth or a similar enterprise EHR.
- Hands-on experience with capitated and value-based payment models and encounter reconciliation.
- Proficiency in Excel, Tableau, and claims analytics tools.
Nice to have
- Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or other process optimization background.
- Working knowledge of pediatric, primary care, or behavioral health coding standards.
- Additional certifications such as CPPM, CPCO, or CHFP.
