What you will do

• Ensure correct accounting and bookkeeping practices, identifying and fixing process gaps
• Manage tax obligations across US states and international jurisdictions as the company expands
• Own financial metrics for business decisions, ensuring accurate definition, computation, and reporting
• Produce financial documentation for fundraising, board reporting, and investor relations
• Oversee procurement integrity, matching hardware/services to purchase orders and payments
• Audit server hardware, colocation, software licenses, commissions, and incentive compensation
• Drive improvements to billing cycles and operational inefficiencies

Requirements

• 5+ years of finance experience, including time as controller, VP of Finance, or CFO
• Hands-on experience with accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting
• Track record managing multi-jurisdiction tax compliance (US state + international)
• Experience building or formalizing finance operations at a startup or high-growth company
• Strong analytical skills for owning metrics and models used by leadership
• Willingness to work at a scrappy pace, handling tasks hands-on before delegating

Nice to have

• Experience with usage-based billing or SaaS revenue recognition
• CPA, CFA, MBA, or similar
• Prior experience in fintech, trading, or high-growth tech startup
• Experience preparing materials for fundraising rounds
