What you will do

• Research, design, and develop materials and fabrication processes to optimize engineering designs for systems and subsystems.
• Apply principles of chemistry and physics to establish specifications for metallic, non-metallic, and composite materials.
• Develop and analyze material properties, design allowables, and quality engineering specifications.
• Perform failure analysis of components and systems to provide life predictions and requirement specifications.
• Review and approve material processing procedures provided by subcontractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience, Master's with 2+ years, or a PhD in a relevant field.
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required at the time of hire (Sponsorship is only offered for Principal-level roles and above).
• Deep expertise in metallic, magnetic, and ceramic materials.
• Ability to work onsite in Mounds View, MN, at least 4 days per week.
• Willingness to travel less than 10% for project collaboration.
