What you will do

• Lead upstream technology strategies for next-generation endoscopic and minimally invasive medical devices.
• Translate unmet clinical needs from KOLs and clinicians into scalable engineering requirements.
• Provide technical leadership for high-volume disposable device platforms, focusing on cost efficiency and manufacturability.
• Implement systems engineering and risk management principles to minimize downstream regulatory risks.
• Partner with Marketing, Regulatory, and Manufacturing to influence the overall product portfolio strategy.
• Mentor senior engineers to improve innovation rigor within the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master’s or PhD preferred.
• 15+ years of medical device R&D experience with a strong focus on upstream development.
• Expertise in endoscopic or minimally invasive high-volume medical technologies.
• Deep knowledge of design controls, systems engineering, and clinician-driven development.
• Must be based in Pleasanton, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience with endoscopic vessel harvesting (EVH) systems.
• Proficiency in rapid machining (3-axis CNC mill) and 3D printing (FDM).
• Experience with Instron methods and custom fixture development.
• Skills in DFM/DFMA and supplier coordination.
