What you will do

• Lead advanced metrology execution and continuous improvement for robust quality systems.
• Develop battery characterization and test methods for scientific understanding and process control.
• Manage cell testing operations, planning, failure analysis, and yield optimization.
• Execute designed experiments (DOEs) to determine structure/process/property/function relationships.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians in electrochemical testing and data analysis.
• Document findings and communicate them to a variety of technical partners.

Requirements

• BS/MS in engineering or materials science with 3-5+ years of experience, or a PhD with 0-2 years.
• Proven experience in lithium-ion battery research, cell testing, and failure analysis.
• Capability in developing and validating new test methods.
• Proficiency in statistical software such as JMP or Minitab.
• Must be based in or be able to work onsite in Alameda, CA.
• Must be able to pass a respirator fit test and wear required PPE (lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, steel toe shoes).

Nice to have

• Experience with Quality Systems (SPC, Control Plans) in lab or pilot manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in data scripting or database tools such as Python or SQL.
