Salary: $200,000 - $260,000 a year

What you will do

• Oversee full delivery of payroll and financial operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and client satisfaction.
• Manage payroll funds, including segregation, secure movement, daily reconciliations, and compliant tax filings across all jurisdictions.
• Act as the executive point of escalation for tax authority notices, audits, and regulatory compliance matters.
• Partner with the executive team to shape the strategic direction of the function and manage cost-to-serve.
• Build trusted partnerships with clients, financial institutions, and technology vendors.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing operations team.

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive leadership in payroll and financial operations within a SaaS-based payroll or services organization.
• 5+ years of direct ownership over federal, state, and local payroll tax compliance, including audit response.
• Proven ability to build and scale high-performing operations teams, including QA frameworks and compliance programs.
• Experience overseeing payment operations, ACH processing, NACHA compliance, and fraud mitigation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; MBA, CPA, or CPP preferred.
• Must be based in or able to work from Austin, TX; Irvine, CA; Bay Area, CA; Denver, CO; or Akron, OH.

• Prior experience in banking, financial services, or regulated payment environments.
