TL;DR
Senior Instructional Designer II (EdTech): Leading the design and development of digital human skills learning programs for K–12 students and educators with an accent on learning science and end-to-end content development. Focus on translating user needs into engaging learning solutions, guiding program-level content direction, and mentoring junior designers.
Location: Must be based in one of the following US states: AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, MA, NJ, NM, NY, OH, OR, PA, TX, VA, WA. Occasional travel to the Seattle office is required (1–4 times per year).
Salary: $110,000 – $122,000 per year

What you will do
- Lead end-to-end content development and writing for digital K-12 learning programs, including student and educator materials.
- Establish instructional design processes, review education criteria, and provide constructive feedback as a program leader.
- Design implementation materials and professional learning experiences to ensure fidelity of classroom delivery.
- Collaborate with researchers and SMEs to develop digital curriculum that integrates with physical classroom environments.
- Manage, coach, and mentor junior instructional designers, contractors, and content experts.
- Analyze data and synthesize feedback to develop and implement action plans for program improvement.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience developing digital educational programs or games for the K-12 market.
- 5+ years of experience working as an educator in a traditional school setting.
- Master’s Degree in Learning Sciences, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field.
- Must be based in AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, MA, NJ, NM, NY, OH, OR, PA, TX, VA, or WA.
- Expertise in Understanding by Design (UbD) frameworks and culturally responsive teaching practices.
- Proven ability to lead multiple workstreams and mentor other professionals.
