What you will do

• Write and review clear, engaging assessment items for K-5 educational objectives.
• Collaborate with writers, editors, and illustrators to ensure content is accurate and age-appropriate.
• Write achievement level descriptors and detailed assessment documentation.
• Partner with psychometricians and product managers to determine assessment scope and approach.
• Develop and manage project plans for the delivery of high-quality assessment items.
• Research and analyze state educational standards to inform content requirements.

Requirements

• Degree in Education, English, or Linguistics with an explicit focus on literacy.
• 2+ years of experience writing foundational reading items for statewide or national assessments.
• Experience teaching beginning or struggling readers using a structured literacy approach.
• Outstanding written and spoken communication skills.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with HTML, Jira, or version control software.
• Experience in general curriculum development and instructional design.
