TL;DR
Director, VA & Federal Health (GovTech): Building and expanding a book of business within the VA and federal health ecosystem with an accent on delivery-informed business development and strategic partnership management. Focus on identifying high-value opportunities, navigating SDVOSB procurement dynamics, and leveraging delivery intelligence to shape federal contracts.
Location: US Remote. Preference will be given to candidates in the MD/N.VA/DC area; travel approximately 1 day per week within this area is expected.
Salary: $180,000 – $230,000 plus commission and performance-based equity.

What you will do
- Represent the company at industry conferences, VA industry days, and partner events.
- Cultivate strategic relationships with program offices, specifically within VA OIT, VHA, and VBA.
- Collaborate with active delivery teams to maintain client intelligence and identify expansion opportunities.
- Vet and evaluate potential opportunities against strategic fit and win probability.
- Lead partner and teaming negotiations and manage the federal health BD pipeline.
- Support proposal development through RFP analysis and market research.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in business development or partnership management within technology or consulting.
- Deep familiarity with the VA ecosystem and how procurement decisions are made within OIT, VHA, and VBA.
- Strong understanding of SDVOSB set-aside dynamics and VA-specific procurement vehicles.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship provided).
- Ability to travel approximately 1 day per week within the MD/N.VA/DC area.
- Proven ability to use AI-enabled tools in business development practices.
Nice to have
- Previous federal government service at VA, CMS, or similar agencies.
- Familiarity with joint venture structures, including SDVOSB and 8(a) mentor-protege.
- Experience with agile software development practices.
- Knowledge of HHS adjacent agencies.
