Senior Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: City of London, England, UK; hybrid work from the London office typically two to three days per week.

What you will do

• Lead the product engineering organisation through team leads across frontend, backend, mobile, and quality engineering.
• Own delivery, technical quality, engineering standards, and people outcomes across multiple teams.
• Contribute to agentic tooling, the spec-driven development framework, and developer experience improvements.
• Roll out and measure adoption of spec-driven and agentic development practices across engineering.
• Recruit, retain, coach, and develop engineers, engineering managers, and team leads.
• Partner with product and executive stakeholders on roadmap planning, delivery risks, trade-offs, and engineering-wide initiatives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 4 years in engineering management.
• At least 2 years managing engineering managers or team leads across multiple teams.
• Deep technical knowledge with practical production experience in Python and TypeScript.
• Experience shipping machine-learning-powered features and using agentic development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or equivalent.
• Experience with recruiting, performance management, career development, technical interviews, and cross-functional product engineering.
• Must be London-based and able to work from the London office on a hybrid basis.

• Experience with marketplace or two-sided platforms, on-demand or field services, logistics, gig economy, B2B fintech and payments, vertical SaaS, or workflow and project-management tooling.
