Senior Engineering Manager (AI)

What you will do

• Lead the product engineering organization through team leads, owning delivery and technical quality across frontend, backend, mobile, and QA.
• Contribute code to improve agentic tooling, the SDD framework, and the overall developer experience.
• Champion and roll out Spec-Driven Development (SDD) and agentic practices across all engineering teams.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain high-caliber engineers and engineering managers, maintaining a high hiring bar.
• Partner with product managers to accurately size roadmaps and manage delivery risks and trade-offs.
• Establish a clear operating rhythm for planning, delivery reviews, and post-mortems.

Requirements

• Must be based in London with the ability to work from the office on a hybrid basis.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years in engineering management and 2+ years managing other managers.
• Working fluency and production experience in Python and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with agentic development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) and shipping ML-powered features.
• Proven track record of designing technical interview methods and managing employee performance and career growth.
• Strong commercial pragmatism and ability to communicate technical trade-offs to executive stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Domain experience in marketplaces, two-sided platforms, B2B fintech, or vertical SaaS for operations-heavy/compliance-driven industries.
