Engineering Group Leader – Software Integration (Automotive)

TL;DR

Engineering Group Leader (Software Integration): Leading a team responsible for end-to-end software integration, build, and validation for mechatronic controllers within the SDV stack with an accent on CI/CD pipelines, release stability, and team development. Focus on driving engineering excellence across integration workflows, optimizing build orchestration, and managing complex dependencies across vehicle programs.

Location: Hybrid: Must be based in or be able to relocate to Milford, Michigan (report to office at least 3 times a week)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of software integration and build engineers, fostering an inclusive and high-performing culture.
• Own the integration plan, content, and timing for mechatronic ECUs, ensuring alignment with vehicle program calendars.
• Sponsor and guide improvements to CI/CD pipelines, build orchestration, and automated test execution.
• Define and maintain integration-level verification and validation strategies in partnership with test organizations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to prioritize software drops and resolve integration-blocking issues.
• Drive continuous improvement in release processes through automation and lean methodology.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• 8+ years of professional experience in automotive or embedded software development, integration, or build/release engineering.
• Proven experience leading technical teams as a people lead or technical lead.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages (Python, Perl, or Bash) for automation.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, Git, Jenkins/Azure DevOps, and AUTOSAR/RTOS.
• Must not require immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
• Experience within a Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) or large-scale mechatronic platform environment.
• Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and HSM/HSE-based ECUs.
• Hands-on experience with Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and virtual test environments for validation.
