What you will do

• Manage and coach a small, growing team of compliance professionals, providing career development and performance feedback.
• Oversee the execution of regulatory compliance processes, including wagering tax and customer reporting (Forms 1099, 1042, W-2G).
• Act as the primary liaison with gaming regulators and external partners on operational compliance matters.
• Drive scalable process improvements by leveraging automation, AI, and data analytics.
• Own business controls within the SOX environment to ensure audit readiness and documentation.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Tech, Advisory) to embed compliance into new product launches.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of professional experience in tax, compliance, or audit within a highly regulated industry (gaming, banking, etc.).
• Proven experience in people management or team leadership.
• Strong understanding of information reporting and withholding requirements.
• Ability to manage large datasets and translate complex analyses into actionable insights.
• Must be based in New York City for a hybrid work arrangement.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree or professional certification (CPA, CRCM).
• Experience in the technology, gaming, legal, or sports/media industries.
• Hands-on experience with SOX controls and public company reporting.
• Proficiency with advanced Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools.
