Lathe Machinist 1 - 2nd Shift

Lathe Machinist 1 - 2nd Shift (CNC): Perform set-ups and run parts on a CNC lathe with milling capabilities to close tolerances, fine finishes, and complex geometry. Focus on inspecting all work performed, setting up or adjusting gaging equipment, detecting deviant parts, and interpreting complex drawings including GD&T blueprints.

Onsite – Buffalo, NY. Must have the ability to work an off-shift and/or train on a shift other than the hired shift. This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information and enrollment in FAA Drug & Alcohol Program.

What you will do

• Perform set-ups and run parts on a CNC lathe with milling capabilities to close tolerances, fine finishes, and complex geometry.
• Inspect all work performed, set up or adjust gaging equipment, detect unusual conditions or deviant parts.
• Recognize errors in blueprints and operation sheets when needed.
• Interpret complex drawings, including GD&T blueprints, sketches, and operation sheets.
• Follow an escalation path as it applies to machining.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year experience as a general machinist, CNC lathe experience preferred
• Familiarity using various measuring equipment, including Micrometers and Dial Bore Gauges
• Competency in reading and interpreting blueprints and written work instructions
• In accordance with strict FAA regulations regarding Safety Sensitive Work, enrollment & participation in the company’s FAA Drug & Alcohol Program is required
