What you will do

• Architect and optimize Cisco Nexus switches within a High-Performance Computing (HPC) environment to ensure low latency and high throughput.
• Manage the full lifecycle of Cisco NextGen Firewalls, including security policies, routing, and VLAN segmentation.
• Administer and scale VMware clusters running on Dell VxRail hyperconverged infrastructure.
• Support high-performance storage environments using VAST Data and Dell Isilon for intensive workloads.
• Manage hybrid-cloud connectivity and SME support for AWS/GCP Direct Connect and Cloud Interconnect.
• Perform physical data center operations, including rack and stack, cable management, and hardware troubleshooting.

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering and infrastructure.
• Advanced mastery of Cisco Nexus (NX-OS) and Cisco NextGen Firewalls.
• Deep understanding of BGP, OSPF, VLANs, LACP, and VPN protocols (IPsec/SSL).
• Proven experience with Dell server hardware and VxRail.
• Ability to work on-site in Fremont, CA on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work within server racks.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS (VPC, Transit Gateway) or GCP (Cloud Router).
• Certifications such as CCNP (Data Center/Security), VCP, or AWS Solutions Architect.
• Prior experience working in R&D, scientific, or lab environments.
• Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
