Policy Counsel (EMEA)

TL;DR

Policy Counsel (EMEA): Support public policy and legal initiatives at the intersection of AI technology and regulation with an accent on developing AI governance frameworks and navigating emerging legislative developments. Focus on providing legal analysis to policy teams, drafting policy positions and proposals, and partnering with technical teams on product-informed guidance.

Location: Hybrid in London, UK or Dublin, IE (at least 3 days/week in office)

Salary: £200,000 - £240,000 GBP

What you will do

• Develop AI governance frameworks aligned with regulations, best practices, and global standards
• Monitor and analyze emerging AI-related legislative and regulatory developments
• Provide legal analysis and advice to External Affairs and Public Policy teams
• Partner with Public Policy and technical teams to create practical, product-informed policy guidance
• Draft policy positions, proposals, and advocacy materials

Requirements

• Law degree and qualification to practice law in a relevant EMEA jurisdiction
• Experience with policy, regulatory, or government affairs in government, tech company, law firm, or policy organization
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain complex legal and technical concepts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for ambiguous policy questions

Nice to have

• 6+ years of relevant legal experience
• Experience on AI/ML policy, data privacy, copyright, or technology regulation
• Familiarity with EMEA legislative processes and EU/national advocacy
• Experience drafting policy positions, comment letters, or regulatory submissions
• Ability to quickly grasp AI concepts and apply to policy
• Interest in government affairs and responsible AI
