Manufacturing Engineering 1st Shift (Automotive): Supporting manufacturing equipment and process improvements for high-volume assembly and testing with an accent on equipment efficiency and quality. Location: Onsite in Wyoming, Michigan (reporting to Grand Rapids). GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.

What you will do
- Maintain and update all manufacturing technical documentation.
- Provide technical direction to internal teams and oversee external vendors to meet quality and efficiency requirements.
- Drive cross-functional problem-solving to improve equipment efficiency and resolve downtime.
- Provide day-to-day support for manufacturing operations and maintenance.
- Identify and resolve safety and ergonomics issues within the production environment.
- Develop technical training manuals and deliver training to team members and maintenance personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering support role within a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of high-volume manufacturing and testing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must not require immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
- Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of high-speed assembly equipment and vision inspection systems.
- Proficiency with Fanuc robot programming and fault recovery.
- Experience with CAD software.
- Skills in Statistical Analysis and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
