Salary: $160,000 – $190,000

What you will do

• Develop and maintain Python-based backend services and APIs for SDA applications.
• Review software implementations to ensure architectural alignment and coding standards.
• Collaborate with algorithm engineers to design interfaces between computational libraries and services.
• Modernize legacy workflows into modular, maintainable components.
• Drive automated testing, debugging, and performance validation efforts.
• Document technical designs and interfaces for long-term maintainability.

Requirements

• US Citizenship is required.
• Must be eligible to obtain a US Government security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python for backend and application development.
• Experience with API design and Git-based workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience designing RESTful APIs or service-oriented architectures.
• Experience in aerospace, space operations, or defense software programs.
• Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience refactoring legacy codebases in Agile environments.
