What you will do

• Develop and maintain Python-based backend services and APIs for SDA applications.
• Review software implementations to ensure adherence to architectural vision and coding standards.
• Collaborate with algorithm engineers to design interfaces between computational libraries and services.
• Modernize legacy software workflows into modular, maintainable components.
• Influence technical design discussions and implementation approaches for new software capabilities.
• Implement and improve automated testing, debugging, and performance validation.

Requirements

• US Citizenship required.
• Must be eligible to obtain a US Government security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python for backend or application development.
• Experience developing APIs and writing maintainable, testable software.

Nice to have

• Experience designing RESTful APIs or service-oriented architectures.
• Experience integrating computational or analytical algorithms into software systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies such as Docker.
• Background supporting aerospace, space operations, or defense software programs.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
