Lead P&C Technician (Power Systems)

What you will do

• Plan and maintain detailed commissioning schedules for transmission substation equipment.
• Execute commissioning efforts to ensure compliance with specifications and contracts for timely client turnover.
• Perform thorough system walk-downs and reviews to establish completion status and identify outstanding items.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Protection System design, installation, testing, and NERC CIP security zone commissioning.
• Review and approve relay calibration test results and AC acceptance load checks to validate symmetrical phasing.
• Provide functional direction and supervision to technicians and craft support staff.

Requirements

• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding, including criminal background checks, drug screens, and motor vehicle records search.
• OSHA 10 Hour Training certification.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in extreme weather conditions (above 90°F or below 32°F) within high-voltage substation environments.
• Comfort working at heights above 5 feet and climbing steel frameworks, ladders, and scaffolds.
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice to have

• NICET or NETA Certification.
• 8+ years of relevant startup/commissioning experience.
• Knowledge of power plant technical principles and internal engineering systems/tools.
