What you will do

• Provide cyber policy advice to technical and product teams based on model capabilities, product architecture, and abuse pathways.
• Evaluate cyber-relevant product launches and model capabilities to balance legitimate security use against potential misuse.
• Translate cyber threat risks into clear product requirements, launch guidance, and user-facing policies.
• Develop operationalizable standards and escalation paths for scenarios like vulnerability exploitation, malware enablement, and phishing.
• Partner with safety, security, legal, and engineering teams to make principled decisions about cyber risk in high-ambiguity situations.
• Build scalable policy frameworks for dual-use cyber capabilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, threat intelligence, or product policy.
• Strong technical fluency in domains such as vulnerability management, malware analysis, cloud security, or identity and access management.
• Deep understanding of the modern cyber threat environment and the impact of AI on both offensive and defensive operations.
• Ability to distinguish between legitimate security research, authorized defensive activity, and malicious behavior.
• Strong communication skills to translate ambiguous technical risks into practical decisions and requirements.
• Must be based in San Francisco, CA.
