What you will do

• Lead a cross-functional engineering team focusing on features and systems powering the bidding experience.
• Guide the execution of a roadmap aimed at improving the core auction journey.
• Contribute to technical discussions, review pull requests, and support system design conversations.
• Strengthen backend-centric systems, focusing on service design, flows, observability, and maintainability.
• Coach and mentor engineers, organizing the team for success and professional growth.
• Proactively own the health and reliability of critical-path systems to the business.

Requirements

• Strong backend background with the ability to reason about system architecture and observability.
• 2+ years of people management experience, including coaching and handling team dynamics.
• Proven track record of setting and delivering against ambitious, outcome-driven goals.
• Strong communication skills to facilitate architectural trade-off discussions.
• Must be based in or able to commute to offices in Amsterdam, Paris, or Lisbon (hybrid setup).
