What you will do

• Develop and execute a proactive, actionable policy and advocacy strategy to align stakeholders.
• Influence legislative outcomes by building strong relationships with legislators and state agencies.
• Expand coalition-building efforts across families, schools, and diverse partners to build political power.
• Recruit and lead a high-performing team of professionals and manage a $2M annual operating budget.
• Lead fundraising efforts and diversify funding sources to ensure the organization's long-term financial sustainability.
• Serve as the primary public voice for the charter school sector to policymakers and the public.

Requirements

• Significant experience in public policy, government relations, advocacy, or political campaigns.
• Demonstrated success in advancing legislative outcomes within complex or adversarial environments.
• Organizational leadership experience, including team management and budget oversight.
• Proven track record of raising funds and stewarding relationships with foundations and donors.
• Deep understanding of or ability to quickly master Washington’s political and education landscape.
• Commitment to improving educational equity for systemically marginalized populations.
