TL;DR

Salary: $140,000 - $160,000 per year

What you will do

  • Perform board-level circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout using Altium Designer.
  • Develop detailed technical specifications and design documentation for custom control system hardware.
  • Execute the bring-up, verification, and testing of hardware systems in collaboration with FPGA, firmware, and software engineers.
  • Create characterization, validation, and automated test programs for various internal instruments.
  • Coordinate with contract electronics manufacturers and suppliers for PCB fabrication and assembly.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of postgraduate professional experience in analog and digital board-level circuit design.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer and electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
  • Experience managing the full design cycle from concept and schematic capture to layout and bring-up.
  • Ability to use Python for data acquisition and hardware test automation.
  • Must be located in or able to work onsite in Boulder, Colorado.

Nice to have

  • Experience in mixed signal instrument design or RF front-end and high-speed ADC/DAC design.
  • Familiarity with RF design concepts or software-defined radio.
  • Experience working in a Linux environment.
  • Knowledge of pluggable instrument standards like MicroTCA or PXIe.
