What you will do

  • Develop simulator architecture improvements and frameworks to maximize performance and compute utilization.
  • Evolve compute usage strategies to ensure the system scales efficiently within data centers.
  • Collaborate with evaluation and infrastructure teams to identify and resolve compute performance bottlenecks.
  • Design and optimize simulators to enable high throughput for both single instance and large-scale simulations.
  • Establish high-scale performance evaluation, debugging, and software change management processes.
  • Minimize CPU utilization, latency, and RAM consumption by optimizing distribution of computations across CPU, GPU, and TPU.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, EE, Robotics, Physics, Math, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience working with large-scale or high-complexity systems.
  • Proven track record of setting technical vision and driving multi-quarter roadmaps as a technical lead.
  • Strong software management experience in the infrastructure, systems, or performance domains.
  • Proficiency in C++.
  • Must be based in or able to work on-site in Mountain View or San Francisco, California.

Nice to have

  • Experience in robotics.
  • Knowledge of low-level optimization techniques (SIMD, CUDA) and ML performance frameworks.
  • Experience in large-scale evaluation techniques and building data science performance tooling.
  • Experience leading large-scale software re-architecture projects.
