What you will do

• Design and maintain robust platform connectors (ETL) across third-party systems, handling auth, pagination, and schema drift.
• Scale the Discover insights engine for topic clustering, knowledge gap detection, and automation recommendations.
• Build resilient data pipelines using real-time webhooks, incremental sync, and worker queues.
• Optimize search indices and aggregation pipelines for full-text, vector, and hybrid search at scale.
• Solve distributed systems challenges including multi-tenant isolation and webhook security.
• Collaborate with ML and product teams to deliver explainable customer-facing metrics and ROI.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional backend engineering experience, preferably in B2B SaaS.
• Proficiency in Python and FastAPI.
• Production experience with MongoDB, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, and Redis.
• Experience designing distributed job processing systems such as Celery or RQ.
• Location: Must be based in San Francisco, Austin, or Madison (Hybrid)

Nice to have

• Experience with ETL orchestration tools like Dagster or Airflow and S3 storage patterns.
• Familiarity with NLP pipelines, embeddings, or production RAG systems.
• Expertise in multi-tenant SaaS system design and webhook security (HMAC/OAuth).
• Prior work on analytics engines that translate metrics into product recommendations.
