Process Controls Engineer (Automotive)

Process Controls Engineer (Automotive): Designing and implementing electrical control systems and manufacturing equipment for automotive production with an accent on PLC programming and system integration. Location: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) in Warren, Michigan. Must be able to report to local office. Requires 25% nationwide travel and occasional international travel.

What you will do

• Design, integrate, and install electrical controls systems and equipment for high-quality automotive parts production.
• Manage program implementation, including SOR preparation, forecasting, and equipment buy-off.
• Program PLCs and HMIs using Ethernet and Devicenet networks.
• Troubleshoot and continuously improve existing plant equipment and process technology.
• Provide technical leadership and direction to suppliers and junior controls engineers.
• Manage project timing milestones and report progress to senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as an Automotive, Controls, or Electrical Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with PLC systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI programming.
• Experience with Servo motors, motion control, drives, and Fanuc robots.
• Strong background in designing and troubleshooting electrical controls systems.
• Proven project management experience.
